SPACE EKO EAST | THE SOUND OF EAST LONDON

 

East London based music recording studio Space Eko East has been one of the corner stones of East London Rock’n’Roll, Blues and Soul scene for quite a while now. Alex McGowan who is the owner of the studio, has recorded and produced multitude of amazing name making bands and musicians shaping what we know as The Sound of East London. This documentary film is the Story of all above.

East London has always had a colourful representation in the world of music, shaping the underground cultures while keeping it true to the art. In this documentary film, we are diving deep into the world of music and personalities that are keeping this unique uncompromised sound alive today without pressure of global record companies.

Some of the musicians such as Paul-Ronney Angel of The Urban Voodoo Machine, Jim Jones, Tommi Rae Brown, Son of Dave of Crash test Dummies and many others are here to share their personal stories in music industry and their work with Alex McGowan at Space Eko East Recording Studio. Alex also gives an exclusive interview how the studio functions and what has been going on in there over the years. You’ll also get to see exclusive material from some of the recording sessions with The Future Shape of Sound and many other musicians as well as live gig footage from these incredible musicians.

When you come from difficult surroundings, finances are an issue and all the odds are against you, it can be depressing and hard to get your head around to do what you love and want to do in your life. Most of the personalities represented in this film have had very difficult past, but still today, they are doing what they love the most in their lives, music! The stories of these individuals are sure to inspire you all.

The Baron is known for his work in Photography and Videography. Along side of photographing and other video work, He is now working on his first feature-length Documentary  film.
